Reminiscence

RANG, the Fine Arts Club of IIT Bombay was conceptualized and founded by 'Shahzad Akhtar Wakeel' on 2nd August 2003. His purpose was to bring a new dimension in IIT-Bombay fine arts' scene aiming at increased and quality participation by all campusites. The vision was also to give a platform to showcase all amateurish artwork done by campus inmates and thus provide encouragement to them. Today, RANG is a big family with almost all art enthusiasts of IIT Bombay being a part of it and nurturing their talent and skills in one way or the other.

I still remember having one of the first RANG meetings with less than 10 members.. our agenda used to be pretty simple back then... usually talking about water colors/sketches and events like face painting and sketching workshops... it has since then grown to include digital arts, cross-over art-cum-photography events and of course Kaladarshan..makes us feel nostalgic just remembering the earlier rang days.. :-)
Thanks guys for keeping up the RANG spirits to all time high..

RANG started with its main aim to foster fine arts, imagination and creativity. I always saw some of the most creative people working with RANG. I remember making the first online art gallery. It's very basic but this was when other organizations didn't even have their web pages.
